
We provide 3 different levels courses for weaving.
A Taste of Weaving A one-day workshop, four to five hours. This course allows the participant to have the experience of weaving on a table loom already threaded and ready to weave. You get to make a 12” X 26” runner.
Cost: $80.00. All equipment and materials included.
This course will next be offered on Saturday January 17th, 2026, and on Saturday January 24th, 2026. FULL!
Level 1 Table Loom Course This is a 5-lesson course taught in 3-hour sessions over 5 days/weeks. This course teaches you the ground rules of weaving. You learn to make a warp, dress a table loom, and basic weaving techniques. You will be able to complete a small project and take home your work as a sampler of what you have learned.
Dates:
Saturday Feb 21st to March 21, 10AM to 1PM.
Thursday March 26th to April 23rd, 10AM to 2PM.
Adult Day Camp – July 13th to 17th, 10AM to 1PM.
Cost: $ 185.00 for members, $225.00 for non members. Equipment, instruction manual and raw materials included.
Level 2 Floor Loom Course This is a 6-lesson course taught in 3-hour sessions over 9 to 10 days/weeks. This course is ideal for someone with some weaving experience.
You learn about different fibres, patterns, how to dress a floor loom, how to operate it, and how to maintain it. Along with many more techniques you also learn to finish your work with hems, fringes, and wet finishing. In this course you make two take home projects, one woven in cotton and the other woven in wool.
Dates:
Thursday January 8th to March 12th, 10AM to 2PM.
Saturday April 18th to June 27th, 10AM to 1PM.
Adult Day Camp – August 10th to 21st, 10AM to 1PM.

Would you like to learn more about spinning? Lessons can be taught using your own spinning wheel, or its possible to rent a spinning wheel from the NHWS guild.
The Spinning Course is taught by one of our experienced spinners at her home in St. Catharines.
The course consists of 6 lessons of 2 hours each.
An instruction binder and the raw materials are provided. If you require to rent a spinning wheel that can also be arranged. She is flexible with the days and times of the lessons.
Costs: $ 175.00 for members, $220.00 for non members. $30.00 for materials.
